CSA Questions

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. A CSA is a group of “shareholders” who come together to support a farm by purchasing “shares” in advance.  By purchasing a CSA share you help farmers plan their cash flow, make decisions on what and how much to grow, and plan their crops for the coming season.  Buying a CSA share helps support the local economy and fosters community support.

What does it mean to be a shareholder in our CSA?

When you purchase your flower share from us, you join us on this farming journey sharing both the risks and the rewards that we face each season.  The risks include unpredictable weather conditions, pests, or natural disasters which could lead to poor harvests.  On the flipside, you receive a bountiful share of what we harvest throughout the growing season and you help support the local community and the environment.

How do I sign up?

Simply head to our online shop, make your choices and pay.

How does it work?

  1. Select from one of our many options
  2. Be on the lookout for your confirmation email- Be sure to add us to your contacts to avoid sending us to Spam/June.
  3.  Delivery. We provide contactless delivery on a regular schedule.  Deliveries are scheduled by harvest dates and delivery location.
      • We will contact you prior to your delivery and provide your start date and delivery day.

What flowers can I expect each week?

Please browse the portfolio section of our website to see some of our flower selections during the season.  In addition, as a member of our CSA, you will receive weekly notifications containing a list of flowers and care tips.

How are my flowers delivered?

Flowers are delivered in either a glass vase filled with water or in eco-friendly materials.  The Petaled Garden uses Eco Fresh Bouquet Wraps to ensure our flowers stay hydrated during delivery.

Can I request specific flowers in a CSA share?

We are unable to accommodate specific flower requests for our CSA shareholders.  If you would like specific flowers for an event or bouquet, contact us or visit our design services page.

How do I care for my flowers?

We send a weekly CSA email with specific care instructions for your flowers.  All flowers in your share are delivered within 24 hours of being harvested to ensure they are in peak condition.  The Petaled Garden guarantees that the flowers will be in the best possible condition upon delivery, however, we cannot be held responsible for situations beyond our control once the flowers are delivered.

General Tips:

  • Remove any leaves that fall below the waterline in your vase
  • Change the water on a daily basis
  • Keep out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources

When will my CSA begin?

Because our flowers are all field grown, the start dates for each share season are approximate as mother nature is ultimately in control of our harvest times. As the season progresses you will receive an email notification with the exact start date of your share and the delivery date. Please make sure to add our email floralinfo@thepetaledgarden.com to your contacts list to prevent our emails from being caught in your SPAM folder.

How do we communicate?
Email is the primary method of communication between The Petaled Garden and our shareholders.  Once you sign up for a share, you will be added to our weekly email list.  Be sure to add floralinfo@thepetaledgarden.com to your email contacts to avoid having our emails end up in your SPAM/JUNK folder.  We communicate any updates, last minute changes and weekly share information via email.  If you have signed up and not received any communication, please notify us immediately so we can investigate.

I ordered a share but have not heard from you. What should I do?

If you have ordered a CSA share and have not heard from us, be sure to check your SPAM or JUNK folder.  If there is no communication from us, something is amiss so be sure to send us an email at floralinfo@thepetaledgarden.com and we will address the issue as soon as possible.  Also, be sure to add our email to your contacts list to prevent any controllable email issues.

GIFTING: I want to order a share for my friend.  How do I order delivery to a different address?

Just click shipping to a different address and enter your recipient’s address in the shipping section. Then in the special notes area at the bottom of the checkout page, add their name and phone number should we need to contact them.  If ordering shares for multiple addresses, each order must be placed separately in order to capture the different delivery addresses.

Can I order extra flowers during my share season?

If you need extra flowers or an extra seasonal bouquet, please inquire!  We will do our best to accommodate your request, however, any requests are subject to availability.  Check out our Design Services page for more information.

Payment Questions

Can I cancel my order?

Once you sign up and pay for your share, you have secured your place in our CSA for the season.  There are no refunds, either full or partial, for cancellation of your CSA once purchased.  You may transfer your share to another person within our delivery range but would need to let us know the new delivery address.

What happens to my share if a natural disaster occurs that wipes out the flowers?

As farmers, we are at the mercy of mother nature and while we make every effort possible to mitigate crop losses, extreme weather (drought, flood, hail, etc.) can significantly impact our crops and availability of flowers for the CSA.  Signing up to be a shareholder means you share both the risks (crop loss) and the rewards (bountiful seasonal flowers) of farming with us. While we do not offer refunds, our promise to our shareholders is that we will work hard to ensure we are prepared for whatever nature sends our way.

What if I am not available to receive my share?
If you know you are going to be unavailable for a week during your season, please be sure to email us with an alternate delivery address at least 48 hours in advance so we can adjust our delivery route as necessary.
